31/12/08 - finally i called "mummy!"

Yeah! Mummy is very happy on New Year's Eve as finally i said "mummy" - not mama or ma but mummy! and followed by chinese “妈 妈”.

hmmmm....i've found a solution whereby i can play with the cups, bowl, plates all by myself in this high chair. Lastly, i used signing to indicate i want to eat (biscuits). Lately, mummy borrowed a signing dvd video from library and i like it very much and learn some signing like eat, drink, milk, more, bear, bird, go.

Now i treat Ikea like my 2nd home as i know how to make myself comfortable by lying on the sofa bed tossing here and there. Mummy video me as i kept saying "妹 妹“ like chanting. At least mummy is happy as i did say "妈妈”.

suntec again - daddy feed me

Went to Suntec again to stock up pampers but didn't get it as offers ended today whilst stocks last :(

I didn't eat much compared to at home. Proabably too much distraction? Don't have my favourite video on? Hence, they don't bring along my porridge out often - -- today exception.
After my dinner, played with my socks by pulling it out.

i'm a library member

I'm officially a member of the public library! Cool! I can borrow 4 books using my own library card. A staff member approached my parents and asked whether they want to sign me up as a membership for free? Of course yes, why not? Mummy hopes this could cultivate me in interest to read books when i grown up.

Now i am able to say "阿 姨”- auntie. Mummy said the most accurate chinese word on family is " 弟 弟”- lil. bro but still no "妈 妈” - mummy :( .

Later, mummy ergo me to Suntec to meet daddy after work to buy pampers which are on offer now.

Siting on dinky chair harness again. It is really useful as there isn't any highchair in the food court.

Mummy put on my new crocs shoes at home since i like to wear her slipper at home. Mummy noticed i fell frequently when wearing this shoes, probably still big for my size.

more teeth

Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry X'mas to everybody!

Mummy dressed me up pretty and put on the bandanas as i like to look pretty. We went to Vivo in the afternoon and on the bus, mummy discovered i've got another teeth - top right cuspid tooth. Mummy wasnt sure if there is any more teeth out as i refused to open my mouth.
I've total 13th teeth now.

X'mas presents

Yeah! I've got Xmas presents from mummy & daddy. Mummy ordered a Dinky Chair Harness from the bulk puchase and got it in the noon and straight went to Marina Square to meet Daddy. First try on it at the Killiney Kopitiam. Mummy said at times difficult to find high chair for me at some shopping areas and this is handy if needed and it is light! Daddy bought me another new pair of shoes from Crocs. After shopping around, we went home for my dinner. After my dinner and it is still raining, daddy suggest ergo me to anchorpoint for their dinner with umbrellas. I kept looking at the umbrella and try to said it with "uh"

哥 哥

Morning met Aunty Gina and her son and mummy asked me to address them 哥 哥 and 阿 姨. As i haven't mastered aunty in chinese, i only called 哥 哥 softly.

@Ikea cotbed - like to stack bowls, cups & plates. Said bowl, plate & frog. Now frog is my favourite word as i kept saying it whenever i saw a frog picture or frog toy.

Mummy noticed lately i am hungry for new words daily! But to mummy's disappointment, today i'm able to say "爸 爸" - daddy， ”哥 哥“- brother ， ”弟 弟“ - lil bro, but no " 妈 妈" - mummy yet when look at the chinese book :(. I did say "ma" when looked elsewhere and daddy told mummy i'm calling her but mummy said unlikely i meant it.

When saw the word "床“ & "钟" - i said it in english word "bed" and "clock" respectively and looked at the house clock in the living room. Mummy is glad i am able to recognise it in both languages. Mummy is amused today as i kept saying "duck" with the "k" sound behind.

lil miss vainpot

Morning daddy brought me to the park and as usual pick up the leaf n played with it and i blurted it out "leaf". Daddy asked mummy whether she teached me the word "leaf" and mummy said "of course!" It took so long that i remembered the word. It shows that i do "park" my memories at one side, ok?

They now called me "little miss vainpot" as i like to look at the mirror, do some face action. Mummy saw me and asked me to dance, turn round round, run, jump and i did it! Of course, didn't really jump, just act on it. So far, i had jumped once and fell a little.

At the vivo bus stop, saw a poster signage with no. 18 and said no. 8. as well as chinese "八“. I like to look up at the numbers when the lift going up and down. This has been a habit since i was a baby. Probably the nos. is in red colour that attracts me. Now i like to say it when i saw familiar nos. esp. 2 & 8. Today i said no. 10.

Today is the last day of the class for term 2008. Teachers make some comments on my "report card" --- that i enjoyed the lessons as it gets by especially the music flashcards sessions. Mummy's verdict : begining to know what "class" means -- follow the rules! ha! ha!

After the class went to Suntec and mummy let me play around at "toysrus" while waiting for daddy. Mummy noticed i like big soft toys. After their dinner, mummy wants to eat her favourite and only yoghurt type - "yummy yoghurt" brand and let me tried for the 2nd time and I simply love it and wants more!. 1st time i ate - too cold.

Also today is my last day to play with my exersaucer and walker as mummy found a buyer. I didn't cry when it was taken as i've outgrown it. I played with the exersaucer while the buyer was here to take a look and touch the frog toy and said "frog" quite clearly.
I slept late today at 11:35pm.

mummy's lunch appointment

Mummy got another lunch appointment with her ex-colleagues at Vivo. They played/chit chat with me for a while and at times, my hands flinging here and there like i'm dancing, looked at them innocently and shake my bum a little while sitting on a high chair. They had a good laugh at my actions. After that, mummy met Auntie Elaine again to shop around till 6pm.

Auntie Elaine wanted to take a picture of me and ask mummy to said "smile" and quickly snap it.

Mummy had a lunch appointment with Auntie Elaine at Lucky Plaza and shop around at Orchard Road. I didn't sleep well for my afternoon nap and they brought me to Paragon to play at the little playground.

more chatty

Morning, mummy sling me to Ikea for her breakfast and let me play there as usual. Mummy tired of picking up the soft toys whenever i throw on the floor. Sometimes i will respond when mummy asked me to pick it up but most of the time i didn't.

Today i am more chatty, kept "talking" to myself which mummy don't understand but finds me interesting with a sweet little voice.

Words i said today - bed, bowl, trying to say "swing".

kiss mum&dad / 1st time eat cheeze / "sshhh" signing

Mummy and daddy are happy that i kiss them again! Previously i did but stopped and will only kiss the soft toys but refused to kiss them. Oops!

I asked daddy to keep quiet by signing (finger on my mouth) while mummy is still sleeping in the morning. Daddy had a good laugh that i know not to disturb mummy and he told mummy later.

Today, i offered mummy my drink bottle and still called daddy, no mummy yet :(

Mummy fed me a packet of kids cheeze and i ate half only. This is the 1st time i eat cheeze as mummy wants to train me to eat cheeze/butter as she don't want me to follow her genes (ie. mummy can't eat cheeze,butter,chilli and drink milk).

called "daddy" / growing up phase - know more words

I am able to said the word "daddy" clearly and at times look at daddy. Mummy is a little bit sad as i have not called "mummy" yet!! but i am still sticky to mummy and offer mummy to drink yakult but not daddy....hee! hee!

Words i said today - "五“ - five, "纸” - paper, "P".

We went to library in the late afternoon and daddy noticed i am stuck with the numbers if it is handwritten as the fonts on printed is a little different from it. I refused to say the number though i know it. Guess it takes sometimes for me to adapt on handwritten nos. or characters. Numbers i am more familiar are no. 2 & 8. Sometimes confused 6 with 8. For the 26 alphabet letters, mummy said i can recognise most of it (about 80 or 85%). If i am not able to say it, i will replace it with phonics sound like alphabet "F".

Mummy noticed lately i can input knowledge fast as i am beginning to know more things surround me. A phase that i am growing up and more chatty! Mummy hopes i will not keep asking her "why, why, why" later ......faintz!

manners

Went to Ikea in the afternoon and played with the minature cooking utensils again while daddy sat on a corner to rest and mummy played along with me.

Late evening, mummy read me a book on "Pooh, mind your manners" as mummy wants to train me to be more polite as lately i like to throw things on the floor when i am not happy, cry uncontrollably as and when i like. Mummy said my loud cry makes her temper boil! Oh no! At the same time, mummy read some chinese books which i am able to recognise more chinese words. Mummy said when i try to pronounce or said the words in chinese, i said it like "ang moh" style with slang. I tried to say “洋 娃 娃”，“饭”but said it in "f" phonics sound "fffff", “肉”，”菜“，“笔” “纸". Can recognise the word " 脚“ and touch my leg as well as "手”，“头 发”and other body parts in chinese. I can respond when mummy said both chinese word - 笑 and smile. At last, mummy's effort in teaching me chinese is well-worth it! Mummy is proud of me too! hee! hee!

Daddy's back from HKG trip

Hurray! Daddy coming back from HKG today! Mummy been waiting for this day to come as she is exhausted taking care of me 24/7 these past few days.

I did not sleep well this afternoon (only 45 minutes). Mummy hopes i will not be cranky at class which i didn't. I kept wanting to stand on the table and lift my leg up. Teacher kept asking me to sit down. Oops! I danced on the table! Oops again! But at times, i was concentrating on doing the tasks/activities (eg. pushing the mini pomp poomp balls on the plastic hole cup) and still wanting to do it despite teacher wanted to keep it and all my classmates's eyes clued on me doing it. Mummy said i was quite hardworking today to finish the activities that were asked to do.

After the class ended, mummy went home straight.

I can recongise most of the 26 alphabet letters and no. 0-9.

I ate more bread today...almost 1pc of raisin bread. It's yummy!

I've said quite a lot of words today - bowl, bib, diaper, egg, 8, 2, art, pitch (without the sound ch), A, B, C, D, E, F (phonic sound), G, M, touched my leg when flash the card"脚“, touched my face when video said "face". Tried to say - mop, broom. Called daddy while mummy talked to daddy on the phone.
I am now able to recognise more alphabet letters.

Bread

It's daddy's birthday today! Too bad daddy not in town :(
Mummy smsed daddy n wished him happy birthday in HKG.

I woke up quite early at 6am despite i slept late yesterday and had a milk drink of 175ml.

At about 9am, mummy brought along 1pc of raisin bread (of course without the raisin as i will spit it out) and i ate about 3/4 of it. Mummy is surprised i can eat more now, a far cry from just a few bites of bread. This considered my breakfast.

Probably i missed daddy...while playing at my room's bed, i called "daddy" few times facing the wall.

Words i said - bowl, 2, M, A, G, bib (when i refused to put on the bib and took it out), cup (while playing with the colorful plastic cups @Ikea this morning), touch my shirt when mummy said “衣” - shirt.

T3

I woke up early at 6:30am as maybe i know daddy is going to HKG on business trip today till Fri (9-12 Dec). We left home to airport @T1 at 7:40am There is a long queue for the check-in but luckily daddy managed to squeeze time to have a cuppa of coffee with mummy.

After sending daddy off, mummy took the skytrain to T3 and let me play at the playground.
I was playing with crayons provided by the airport and i said "black" when i took a black crayon. Words i said today - bear, duck, shoe, flower, “猫“(cat), bird, recognise A, B, N, smiling face @ playground.





While playing video on alphabet at home, i said "I", "J", "K", "P" and looked at the bumper mat. For chinese, i said “鼻”,“ 猪”, and trying hard to say "肉”。 Understand the meaning “坐” -sit.

These 2 pictures taken at 10pm+....still haven't sleep. I slept at 11pm and mummy is exhausted for the day.

"daddy", 白

Daddy gave me a bath and mummy said both in english n chinese words "笑” - smile and i responded it & mummy quicky snap some pictures.

I like to play at mummy's bed as it is big (king size) and look at their wedding pictures and said "daddy" few times loudly but no mummy yet :(

When mummy flip the flashcard word "白”, i said it softly twice and mummy is surprised i can recognise it at a short time. Cool!

Blk no. 2

Daddy told mummy that this morning after breakfast, passed by our next block no. 2, i said it loudly no. 2. No. 2 is my favourite no. as well as no. 8.

Words i can responds when mummy spoke in chinese - 拍 拍 手 (clap hand)，笑 (smile)，手 (hand)， 脚 (leg)，头 发 (hair).

phonics song

Mummy switched on the phonics song after my afternoon nap (1 hour only) & i was trying hard to say both the alphabets and phonic sounds and dance a little.

said letter "M", paper giraffe

Words i said today - alphabet "M" not the phonic sound, 2, 8. Kept humming letter a, b happily. While holding the milk bottle, said "A" loudly as i saw letter "A" printed "AVENT" brand name.

After the class, went to Suntec and saw a big tall giraffe made of paper and recognise it is a giraffe and said it (sounds like "daff"). Mummy was surprised i was able to recognise it despite it is made of paper (like origami) and it is not coloured at all! This shows my imagination/visual tracking is good - mummy said.

doll-up myself

I like to take anything from my drawer (shirt, sweater) and put it onto my shoulder or head as if i am wearing a scarf. Lately, I like to doll-up myself (girlie stuff, you know?) to make myself pretty.

Words i said today - "play", “饭”- rice. Kept looking on the bumper mat and said "A" "B" loudly. I kept pointing on the letters as if to ask mummy to read to me and of course, mummy did.

wore mummy's slipper / drank more milk

Today, i drank more again (approx. 190-210ml) and ate more ever since i've recovered.

I pretend play to be an adult and wore mummy's slipper. And this is the slipper that helps me to crawl! Ha! ha! When i was little, didn't crawl much and mummy tried many toys to encourage me to crawl without success. But when i saw mummy's bright pink coloured slipper bought from Ikea, i crawled towards it and now i want to wear it.
I am chatty today.

Words i said today - play, pig, bat, lion roar sound, girafee (sounds like daff), no. 8 and 10. Today, mummy wore a t-shirt which says "Don't judge me" and i say the letter "D" and "M" phonics. Mummy noticed i am more aware of alphabet letters lately.

growth spurt? / words

After recovery, i ate more and drank more milk! Mummy wondered if i am on growth spurt??

Morning wake up at 6:40am and drank 175ml milk and cried n cried.

Lunch at 10:50am, ate 2 bowls of fish porridge + fruit puree.

Afternoon at 2:15pm, mummy had to add 1 more scoop from the normal 175ml milk as suspects i wanted more and indeed i drank 210ml milk at one go!

Had dinner at 6:20pm and i ate 2 1/4 bowl of porridge + fruit puree. Mummy noticed i like rock melon puree much as i kept looking at it. "yum! yum!"

At 9:05pm, i cried n cried and mummy suspects i want milk again and made 175ml milk despite i have my dinner barely 2 1/2 ago. I drank almost all about 160ml! This is unusual from the routine as usually after dinner, i will sleep till next day.

Words i said today "play", "8" again, letter "B" followed by the phonics sound "ber ber", imidate the cow's moo moo sound, phonics "M" ----"mmm" when look at the inverted letter "W" which looks like "M" on the bumper mat (now mummy said it is worth well to buy the alphabet mat way in advance when i was still in mummy's stomach during the baby's fare at Expo which i now put it on use).
