swimdates with sis kana

Mummy brought me to sis Kana's house for a swimdates at 5pm+. We went to the jacuzi pool side (1m high) for swim as the water is warmer. I immediately attracted to it. I have fun! Sis kana went off at 6:10pm but I refused to come out of it. Mum tried the 3rd time successful as it was late at almost 7pm! I am begining to like to swim, a very contrast to the early stage when I was young as I screamed, cried to my lungs out!

22th month milestones (szj) / IMM waterplay

We went out as usual 10:30am with sis Kana & aunt eileen to IMM. Mummy wanted to take the elephant ride with me but disappointed that few machines are out of order :(.

Today, I'm 22th month old today!
Mummy usually will write down what motor skills i've achieved so far :-

1) Yeah! I can jump now! yes, literally lift my legs up and jump! I love it!

2) Out of sudden, I am willingly to let mum & dad hold my hands which previously I protested. In contrast, I even pull their hands and run!! It's fun to run with my parents....I always giggling while running.

3) Dance ... mum noticed my dance movements improve and I can co-ordinates my hands and body well.

4) Beginning to love to play with water (influence from my buddy kana) ...thanks!

5) Sing song - finally I am trying to sing on :

a) ABC song...but more like reciting it.
b) I'm a girl, I'm a boy from Signing Times. This song so hip!
c) Baby Signing Time - main song. Will sing "baby baby ....time"
d) Frankie Prance song from" Things that go counting". Will shout and say "hey! frankie!"
e) Teddy bear
f) Twinkle twinkle little star - manage to sing only "twinkle twinkle....star"

Other milestones achieved :-

6) San Zi Jing (三 字 经)
Finally, I've shown results which mummy been reciting to me the 1st 2 phrases of san zi jing as and when and shown me vcd since I was 15-16th month old.

人 之 初性 本 性 相 习 相 苟 不 性 乃 教 之 贵 以

昔 孟 择 邻 子 不 断 机 窦 燕 有 义 教 五 名 俱
(highlight red are those words i know how to say it out). Mummy only knows these 2 phrases and she has to memorise it just for me. Mummy don't know what is san zi jing at all previously! But for my sake, have to memorise to teach me later the meanings of these 3 classics characters as it will benefits me.

7) I can count 1 - 25 (trying to count to 30) and chinese 1-10

8) Colours recognition - pink, grey, red, blue, white, black, purple, brown, yellow, green and able to translate it to chinese except pink.

9) I can say my chinese name “家 玲" which mummy taught me as well as my english name "shannon" - daddy taught me. I can say our cat "rascal" name too ;)

10) Getting more mischievous/cheeky - will imitate them say "sit!" or "sit down!", "you're very funny!", "you!", "no! no! no!" "shannon!", "shut-up!". These words are the usual words they "scold" me when I am naughty.

Day 5 - back to S'pore

We checked-out hotel at 10:30am. Our flight back is 1330hrs. We took MTR train to Kowloon station and took a cab to the express train station to airport which has a check-in counter for most airlines including SQ too. Again, they blocked out a seat for me....hee! hee! Lucky me!

Day 4 - Po Lin Monastery in Lantau Island

We took MTR train to Tung Chung Line to Po Lin Monastery in Lantau Island to see the giant buddha. There is a local FOOD REPUBLIC inside the shopping mall (can't recall what is the shpg mall name). They settled their lunch there and ordered Hainanese chicken rice set (HK$40 + $4 for extra egg) = S$8 approx per person. I ate only a few mouthful. Dad ordered coffee thinking will be same as in S'pore but disappointed is machine type (not the traditional coffee make in S'pore which mum misses so much ;0)

We walked to the Tung Chung Cable Car Terminal which is not far and surprised we have to wait till 2pm for the ticket-counter to open. Luckily, we do not have to wait long (less than 10mins). CRYSTAL CABIN - a new type of cable car which equipped with glass bottom under your feet. Excited! And of course, they bought the crystal cabin for round trips and the price definitely more pricey than the normal cabin.
Scary? No! I even dare to dance and look down! Brave, right? ha! ha!

Almost reached as can see the Giant Buddha up in the hill
Dad "ergo" me and walked up 200+ steps!! Pant, pant! "are we there yet?" "finally!" Luckily didn't bring along stroller else mum will faint!
Dad can't wait to take me off and have a drink and I can't wait to walk around too ;)
Solo photo-taking time! Mum caught me happily walking in this nice red door background and snap, snap, snap. A model-to-be? Side-view, look-down view, back-view, front-view, whatever view you want me to be?
"Walking down is much easier....phew!" said daddy. Afterwhich, they have a nice cuppa of hot mocha at Starbucks while I was sleeping.
Took the cable car down and mum shot more views of HKG. Oh! Can't imagine there is a few tombstones up in the hill and very steep staircases too! Wonder who will walk up there?
We went back to the same shopping mall and dad bought few tops for me. Dinner at the Food Republic again as they wanted to feed me porridge and ordered minced pork century porridge and I ate some.
"you want to befriend me?" "must seek my parents' permission, you know?"
As this was the last night in HKG (we will be flying back tomorrow) hence mummy suggested to walk around the harbour city for night view. Mum likes to take night shots as it is challenging especially without tripod and had to play around with the lighting available.
Isn't HKG night view beautiful?

Munching cuttlefish mummy ordered at the open kiosk for HK$20. It is freshly made from raw and saw the man pressed it on a machine and roll it through another machine to make it more cooked. Not the typical crispy cuttlefish, rather it was more springing. I thought it was bread and kept asking for "bread, bread!". Mummy surprised I like it.
"as the clock says 9:25pm, it's late and time to go back!" said daddy. "wah! wah!" I cried loudly to no avail.
