progress on self-feeding

At times when I am too engross on watching video, I will hold the spoon without scooping any food hence mummy will feed me a bowl of porridge first, then the rest I will eat it myself and also to hasten the time mummy wait for me to finish. But when comes to my favourite fruit puree (juice) or yoghurt after the porridge, I will scoop it myself happily :)

After my noon nap, went to sis kana's house for playdates. Mummy noticed I am beginning to befriend kana and play with her together and also feel more relax when mummy was not on sight ie. @washroom, kitchen.

@Food Court, anchorpoint - I wore mummy's sweater. Do I look like a little adult?

Mummy couldn't stand me......dance infront of the mirror, smiling away (topless!) --- "oops!"

more yoghurt! / “ 我 有 帽 子”

Another type of my favourite drink - yalkult light and also mummy's favourite type of yoghurt drink. Whenever I saw an empty bottle in the dustbin, I will pick it up and try to drink it. Mummy quickly stop me and give me a new bottle. Yummy! yummy!

Before I sleep, I picked up a chinese book and mummy read to me. And when mummy point to a page, I manged to say "我有帽子”。These simple chinese books attracted me and I like it very much which mummy later decided to buy it for me then to loan from library.

funny smile (frown)

Recently I've changed my smiling pattern. When I smile, I will frown and gave a big smile. Mummy can't describe whether I am trying to be funny or cute? What do you think, eh?

Mummy likes to take picture of me especially when I am smiling, laughing as these are the precious moment of happiness. "click, click, click!"

We went to Library, NTUC supermarket and McDonald in the evening. I've managed to eat small pieces of bread using the fork. At least, I've got the idea of how to use the fork now. Daddy gave me few small pieces of french fries for the 1st time but mummy don't really encourage me to eat it at this moment.

last day for this term class

Today is the last day for this term class and teacher praised me for good concentration on the flash cards session which was written in my "report book".
We went to Suntec to buy pampers @Carrefour. While waiting for daddy, I happily played with balloon. I ate more than 1/2 of the regular "yami yoghurt" which is also mummy's favourite ;). No wonder it is called "yami" for yummy! slurp!!

dance & shake a boom boom!

Mummy & I went to Ikea for her breakfst and coincidence met Aunt Eileen & lil sis Kana. Mummy ordered a french toast set and I kept wanting to eat it. When I managed to eat a small piece of toast bread on my own using the plastic fork, I shake my bum a little to show satisfaction. Mummy and aunt Eileen laughed at my funny action.

We proceed to the semi-round area to play and I "invite" Kana to dance with me too :)
I can dance (shake well) now .....ahem! genes from my dear mummy ;)

Day #3 - self-feeding

Report card on day #3 - self-feeding

Oh dear! Mummy is so obsessed with me self-feeding as afraid what daddy said --- is just for novelty and dies off soon. You see, mummy hasn't really taught me self-feeding as think it is cumbersome and might mess up the whole house or rather my high-chair as it is cushion based and we don't have a spare cushion to replace it. Hence, mummy is really surprised I can self-feed out of a sudden.

Lately, I am taking light breakfast (either a slice of bread or less) or biscuits. My current favourite bread is raisin, choc. chip or banana walnut bread. A sign of growing up and want more food.

Lunch & dinner time - I self-fed myself with 2 bowls of porridge (of course, will some spillage) and mummy fed me my dessert - fruit puree as I am tired holding the spoon.

Today meal - chicken, threadfin fish, yellow pepper & broccoli porridge.

Conclusion : Mummy noticed I am slowly get the hang of holding the spoon right (straight into my mouth) during dinner time as normally I will twist the spoon down that cause some spillage. Mummy hope I will not play with my food later on else will be a mess!

Day #2 - self-feeding

Lunch time

Mummy thought to feed me 1 bowl first and the rest I will self-feed but I kept looking at the bowl and in the end, mummy let me ate myself for 1 1/4 bowl (3/4 bowl mummy fed me).

Mummy didn't prepare herself that I will cause some spillage hence changed from normal bib to long plastic bib.

Dinner time

This time, mummy is well-prepared and after bath, she just wear me topless with the sleeve plastic bib (bought long time ago but didn't use it) so that mummy will not have to change another shirt for me if dirty it. Mummy let me ate myself for 2 bowls + fruit puree.

Lately, I wanted my food to have more flavour hence mummy added 1 more type of vegetable.

Today meal (lunch & dinner same) - salmon, threadfin fish, yellow pepper & cabbage porridge.

Overall, mummy is happy with the way I self-feed though some spillage is inevitable. I am seriously eating my food, not play with it. I can hold the bowl up to scoop left-over food (learn from my dear mummy).

Milestones - self-feed & alphabets associates with it

I followed mummy to washroom and to entertain me, mummy took out the stick-on alphabets on random on the washing basin. Mummy didn't expect me to just said the alphabets but the alphabets associates with it too.

Mummy was thrilled that I am begining to grow fast and learn fast too. I've known the A-Z alphabets months ago.

And I surprised mummy yet again today....I can self-feed! Woah! woah! Usually I will eat 2 bowls of the "pigeon" peanut size bowl but at dinner time, I ate only 1 bowl. Mummy thought I maybe feeling unwell (running nose) and she tried her luck to hold my hand and fed myself. I didn't struggle and let mummy hold my hand to put it into my mouth. Gradually, mummy let go her hand and I can self-feed! Mummy quickly refilled with my fruit puree and I finished it all! "Hip hip horray!" Mummy quickly smsed daddy about it. Daddy said maybe it's just a novelty and dies off soon. No encouragement from daddy, sob sob :(

1 / teeth

At long last! I said the number 1 correctly...no more as "nam".

Before I go to bed, mummy read me 6 chinese books as I want more! And I want mummy to read me "shapes" book but daddy said it was time to go to sleep and have my last milk feed.
I refused to sleep and to protest, I threw whatever on my bed on the floor (bolster, pillow, blanket, soft toy, etc) but daddy still insist and pat me to sleep with no choice :(

These past 2 days, I've been cranky at night as probably I'm teething now and had a bit of running nose. Mummy saw I've got more teeth now as most of the front top & bottom teeth out already (estimated about 18-20 teeth)? Mummy couldn't count the exact teeth I've as I refused to open my mouth widely.

dirty / dad spanked me!

Afternoon, I cried when I vomited out bread as I was running around the house while eating and dirtied my tiny left feet. I murmured "dirty" while sitting on mummy's lap on the floor. When mummy washed my feet on the washing basin, I said "cold". Mummy is happy I am begining to know what "dirty" and "cold" means as I have to know it by myself. And now whenever I am thirsty, I will say clearly the word "water" instead of "drink".

We went to Vivo after my dinner .

When reached home, I saw my comfy potty at the hall and said "pee pee, shhhh" and mummy thought I wanna pee and quickly took off my diaper. I sat on it, gave a megawatt smile and said "pee pee, shhhhhh" but nothing came out! Ha! ha! another false alarm ;)

Another naughty word I learnt from mummy today "Oh no!".
"peng san!" mummy said.

sunglass for fun!

We went to Taka after my class and finally bought a potty. When mummy said "pee pee, shhhhhhhh", I followed and said "pee pee, shhhhh" and sat on it as if I already know how to use the potty. It turned out to be a false alarm as I just want to have fun sitting on it. Mummy will have tough time potty train me....oops! Oh....today, I kept saying "Oops!" after I dropped something as I learn it from my dear mummy!

We reached home almost 10pm and when daddy asked me whether I want milk, I replied softly "want". Mummy heard it as she was beside me. Daddy asked again and I replied "yes".

19/3 - I'm 20th month old!

I'm 20th month old today! Almost reaching to 2 years old....hope terrible 2 will not happen to me! finger cross!! ;)

Overall, mummy is happy with my development either my motor skills or speech development. Mummy noticed I will be very engross in doing something I want to do and look serious as to determine to do it right. "got character, right?"

read

After my noon nap, I took a book and ask mummy to read to me by saying it clearly "read" which previously I would said "book". Now I understand the meaning of "read". As I took out "my baby journal" book (gift from library) which recorded the growth of me while I was still inside mummy's stomach, hence mummy exchange it for a chinese book to read instead.

I am progressing well to read book though mummy had to point each word by word. I read "小鸟会飞". Mummy is happy I can read book now.

can't wait for the video to end and dance to the beat again!

Woah! woah! Me, dancing queen to-be? Whenever I hear music I like, I will dance (see video below). The song is so.oo....hip-hop!

After my noon nap, went to kana's house for playdates again and hi-5 to her. I told mummy to go home when I was tired.

Suddenly I like to Hi-5 whoever came near me. I raised my hand readily and said "hi-5!" --- mummy no exception too ;)

And suddenly I am willingly to let mummy put on my hair clip without taking it off.

looking for potty / called "mummy" several times

I refused to hug the teachers after the class but willingly to shake hands. We went to Taka as there is a baby fair. Mummy is looking for a comfortable potty for me else waste $$$ on it.

Today ---- I called "mummy" several times.

Scene 1) While daddy and mummy were looking at different brands of potty at 3rd level, Taka and I was playing with the exesaucer, I looked around and didn't see mummy and called out "mummy!"

Later we went to Mothercare @centrepoint to look for that particular brand of potty as the reviews were very good. Mummy let me sit on it and I seem to like it. Daddy don't want to buy one with music as will distract me. Though they have not bought it but more or less decide on this model. Mummy will have a headache in potty training me soon!

Scene 2) Mummy was walking way ahead of daddy and me, I called out "mummy! mummy!".

mimic words

I like to mimic words came from mummy & daddy lately. Today, mummy accidentally said "aiyo!", "ah shit!", I heard it and said it too. Mummy told daddy that they have to be watchful of what they say now.

Trying to form sentences though usually 2 words with a pause in-between. Mummy is not worry as she wants me to speak clear vocabulary words than sentences for the moment.
For example, I saw our cat "rascal" eating and said...cat.....eat and signed.

Didn't I mention earlier I've many ways to play with my bath toys? This time I play kissing games with my toy penguin & frog....hee! hee! and also play peek-a-boo game....using my facecloth to cover the toys and lift them up. It is fun! Mummy finds me so amusing that she has to video me.

Suddenly I got the interest back on building blocks. Now I understand the concept for balancing. Mummy noticed I will use the longer blocks as a base for support and this is the highest I can build-it.
