Day 4 - Yeliu Geopark ( 野 柳)

Our journey today were ROCKY!! to Yeliu Geopark ( 野 柳). First we had a hard time getting to the right bus that goes directly to the destination. Dad is the "tour leader" for this holiday and he studied that Taipei Bus Station (Y1 stop) would take us there but when he asked the info. counter, they told us that we have to go to Taipei Bus Terminal (Y22) where we had to go under a long underpass (Taipei City Mall). Both dad & mum wondered what is the difference between Bus Station & Bus Terminal??? Anyway, we boarded a cozy bus that took us an hour to reach.

man-made rock

natural rock

mushroom rock

ginger rock

candle rock

Dad has to hold me tight as I like to walk around on my own. He smacked me when I tried to climb up and I ran to mummy's rescue :))

can you guess the below 1st picture....where is the "queen's head"?? --- many tourists flocked to take pictures of this queen's head (女 王 头 ) rock formation. Hmmmm....interesting.
Facts about this weird rock formation written in traditional chinese.

At the exit door, there is a row of stores selling tidbits/snacks/drinks mainly cuttlefish. All sorts of cuttlefish....spicy, chewy, crispy. I took my noon nap and they had their late lunch peacefully and ordered Taiwan beer and seafood dishes at a nearby seafood restaurant. After their dinner, we took a bus back and I had my dinner at their local Dante coffee (similar to Starbucks) but with more choices near to our hotel stay. I had unagi rice.

Day 3 - Taipei 101 & Wu Fen Pu (五分埔)

Security is tight at the 5th flr of Taipei 101 where ticketing booth is. They do not allow big bag to carry in and have to deposit with them. It is surprisingly it took about 37 secs. to reach to the 89th flr for viewing.

Timing was bad as I started to get cranky when reached to the 89th flr. It was time for my noon nap. They took this opportunity to have a good 360 degree view of Taiwan. Nothing much they can do as I was asleep and have to wait for me to wake up to go up to the 91th floor - an open view gallery. On seeing us with stroller, the staff escort us to the private lift where only handicapped people or children with stroller can go in. Wow! It's so windy and cold! But we can't view much as it is block by railing for safety reason. I have fun with the wind blowing on my face and look, I kept holding "snowy" - my soft toy cat everywhere.

view from top is Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall (orange building)

We proceed to go to Wu Fen Pu where Taipei clothes wholesale market is located. It ranges from low to mid range quality clothes. We shop around and sat down for a dessert -- 豆 花 from 三 兄 弟 store as Dad heard this bean curd store is popular.

Day 2 - Danshui (淡水)

We went to Ximenting after buffet breakfast at the hotel and bath. It was almost noon time and I took a nap. Ximenting looks similar to Bugis street and it is noisy. Nothing much there in the daytime and it is quite warm during the day. Dad expected the weather to be cool throughout the day. Hence, we u-turn back to the shopping mall near Taipei Train Station while I slept and they were happy to find a local Ya-Kun Coffee Store in the basement foodcourt but disappointed, as the coffee is still not up to the standard here. They woke me as it is time for my lunch and I ate some carrots & chicken meat with little of brown rice.

After our lunch, we took MRT Danshui (red line) to the popular Danshui Fisherman's wharf. Danshui (淡水) is a smaller city to the north of Taipei that was the center of shipping and commerce in northern Taiwan in the 19th century. The city is still popular with visitors from Taipei and boasts many historical attractions.

Mum & Dad like this place very much and look at the sunset --so beautiful! + the weather is cool (22-23 degree Celsius). Many food stores sell finger foods and the most popular is 花 枝 丸 (squid ball).
We had dinner at this lovely, romantic hut restaurant and I enjoyed eating mum's dinner - grilled duck breast which was very tender + drank dad's ice coffee. I drank almost 1/2 of it :) And the atmosphere was perfect - table under a tree facing sea + singer sang beautiful songs which made me danced too + cool weather!

Taipei - Day 1

Playground @T3. I love climbing and immediately attracted to the colorful plagyround while waiting for the gate to open. ETD : 1220hr ETA : 16:55hrs on SQ878.

Inside the plane, the crew gave me some activity books and stickers to play. I enjoy eating the Meiji biscuit sticks tipped with chocolate cream. Yum! yum! I didn't eat the children meal (mashed potato with beef) as I've eaten my porridge they brought along for fear I do not like to eat.

playground @Taipei, Taoyuan airport

We took a direct bus outside the airport. It was 7pm when we reached Shin Shih hotel. It is also walking distance to 雙連 - Shuanlian MRT. Yippie! I've my own bed! I love it the minute I stepped into the room and kept saying "bedroom, bedroom!" and walked around happily. It also has a jacuzzi bathtub :)) As they were exhausted after the flight and bus ride, they have their dinner few units away from the hotel and mum ordered "wanton noodle" which tasted blend. I have my dinner (porridge) during the bus ride.
It was 8pm when they have their dinner but it looks like 10pm. Dad said Taiwan is ahead of Singapore approx. 2 hrs though we share the same timing.

incorrigible / 3 times

When I woke up this morning and laid on the bed :-

me : mummy, read the book
mum : ok
me : 1 more time
mum : ok
me : last one
mum : ok (she giggled as she finds it familiar). The story goes...I kept asking mummy for more toothpaste after the initial brush. She will make it a point the 3rd time I ask will be the last one and I got the signal :) Hence, I followed mum's 3 times practise :))

Met sis Zhi Ying @Ikea and see-saw with her.

After the class, we went to Suntec and mum was stunned at how agile or active I am! I climbed up on the ride and mum said "I am incorrigible" and I managed to say it too though I do not know the meaning. Mum "kena" (got) scolding from dad that it is dangerous for me to climb up :( Mum is more towards on the adventurous type. She wanted me to try anything to my utmost capabilities as long as they are within my side.
